LIFE IS THRILLING WITHOUT EXCESS ADRENALINE AND OTHER IN-HOUSE ADDICTIONS... From the Sayings of 'T'

TRENDS and SIGNS

Details of Divine Intervention:  #168[97] Seascape II

Around 1950 Nature was beginning to show signs to a wider audience that it was reeling from the effects of over-population, habitat destruction and pollution- a veritable decimation of species in the plant and animal kingdoms.

Until then, religion assumed a base in nature...   Nature was semi-divine in that it was always as it was.

The quality of one's being, one's inner being especially, was paramount as one survived in nature.  We might claim 50,000 years of this attitude.

Now, such religion is a gloss, a nostalgia in a material society made palatable with nice ethics, sometimes decent ritual,  perhaps pastoral care or just another pain killer.  One no longer must appease a super-deity-
Now
a common delusion is that Nature can be controlled or will be someday by technology and that will solve the problem.

One's concern is for advancing the human project- at least surviving in it.

I
n this New Age of Technocracy, one's drive is to fit in somehow
- economically and purposefully to make a contribution and a profit
.

[All the greed, various other vices and insecurity are perennial, whatever one's sociology. ]

So, we explore options to help survive spiritually, but as well to survive in a natural way.

We are not against 'the human project'  -Not Doomsday prophets we.  But suspect that we've taken a wrong turn as a species.

Some of the so-called 'primative' societies might have chosen not to advance to 'civilization' (and the techniques of war and conquest) for spiritual reasons.  They are butchered to this day, spiritually dedicated or not,  as soon as they are discovered by so-called advanced cultures- especially if these fabled 'primatives' have anything valuable- especially if the advancing hoard is on some kind of righteous mission.

So,  facing this reality, how does one survive spiritually?   That's what America is about.  Other places as well.

There's  been great progress in some areas.  Really impressive-  Medicine, for example.  And there are ingenious methods, attitudes and relationships from the past that still address the human mind/body.

But the rest is still threatening.  Eyes open or not.
That's the situation.

I thank God daily while confining me to a darkened room for much of the past 20 years, that same scenario has allowed me, slowly, to finish the Nepsis project* that addresses the issues above.

I thank God moment by moment and the 'great American experiment' that allows me to do what I do, or not-  And certain quirks in the economy that have allowed me to survive when the other agencies mentioned above were otherwise occupied.

LIFE IS THRILLING WITHOUT EXCESS ADRENALINE AND OTHER IN-HOUSE ADDICTIONS...**

By 'in-house' I mean readily accessed habits like extreme
exercise that produces addiction to endorphins or other habits of avoidance -You can name your favorite.

Avoidance, like superficiality and materialism is subtly and not so subtly epidemic now.  So,

  • How does one learn to recognize Holiness, Spirit, spirits or even a demon if that's what interests you darker souls-

  • Not by joining the 'just right' congregation, party or cause!

  • How does one 'hunt for peace'?

  • How can one 'see the face of God and live?'
